Yesterday i partook in a workshop which is going to help develop my creativity. The workshop was created in order to provide students with an idea of how to make a fully functioning website which is part of the expectations for the advanced portfolio.
The main way in which my creativity has developed through the use of digital technology is the fact that before this workshop i had no idea how to create a website. Now i feel i will be able to create a well organised and functional website suitable for it purpose.
Furthermore the website was designed using the programme Photoshop so this has enabled me to develop my creativity through a more detailed understanding of the programme and how it works. I am now more confident when faced with the challenge of using Photoshop to edit photos as well as designing websites. The above is valuable knowledge as it has provided me with the confidence to experiment with different tools and icons.
Another way in which my creativity has been aided is through the knowledge gained from the workshop about Html links. I am now aware of how to link pages together and to other websites if suitable. This is handy to know as it means i will be able to use the links helping my website look more professional.
In addition my creativity has been developed as i am now able to use a programme called dream weaver which is used to make your website function. Whilst Photoshop is for designing the website with its codes and conventions. Through the use of dream weaver i was able to make a website with functioning buttons which can make things appear or disappear once clicked. I found with the dream weaver workshop that there was alot of information to obtain in a short amount of time. Although such information is helpful to know as otherwise everything that needed to be included on the page would have all needed to be on there from the start. It will also make my website interactive and more entertaining for the user. As well as making it appear more professional.
Essentially i found both programmes challenging but i feel that the reason for this is my lack of practice and understanding for them. This should develop with time.
